SWATA Members,
Over the past few weeks your SWATA Executive Board, Convention Co-Chairs, and Program Chair have been gathering as much data and member feedback to make a decision on the platform for the 67th Annual Meeting and Clinical Symposia. Health, safety, and member considerations have been our priority. We have made the difficult decision to transition our July 2021 meeting to a live virtual and on-demand event. We will collectively begin developing a meeting that is educationally robust for members in all practice settings with new additions to our virtual environment of last year.
For our members in Arkansas, please know we want to hold a SWATA Annual Meeting in Arkansas and coming to this decision was not been easy. However, at this time, with various known and perceived constraints, your SWATA Executive Board believed July 2021 would not afford optimal participation of members for education, networking, or to take in the sights of the “Natural State”. However, we are committed to having a future meeting in Arkansas. With contracts in place for the 2022 and 2023 conventions to be held in Arlington, Summer 2024 is the first available option and our target for initial planning of a meeting in Arkansas.
Know that each member is important to your Board and we are honored to serve you as we collectively work to advance the profession. Thank you for all you do to advance the profession. Athletic Trainers are ESSENTIAL to Health Care!
