DIistrict VI CEPAT is focused on:
1) Identifying new opportunities for athletic trainers to find emerging employment opportunities. These primary areas of opportunity reside in the military, outpatient orthopedic clinics, hospitals (i.e. emergency rooms), law enforcement, performing arts and the industrial settings. Attention will also focus on the secondary school/educational environment as well.
2) Creating the necessary tools to educate potential employers on the value of employing athletic trainers in traditional and non-traditional settings.
3) Promoting new opportunities to the membership of the SWATA. This will allow the members to become educated about the new possibilities for athletic trainer employment and the opportunity to expand and diversify their professional careers.
The committee is dedicated to impact the future of athletic training in a positive manner through the day to day experiences and network of its new committee members. The makeup of the committee includes experience in healthcare administration, non-profit healthcare education, sports medicine outreach and medical device sales.
