Students attending the Competency Workshop will be eligible to enter a team for the Quiz Bowl. Announcing the 4th ANNUAL SWATA ATHLETIC TRAINING STUDENT COMPETENCY WORKSHOP
OVERVIEW:The Competency Workshop is intended to be a complement to CAATE athletic training education programs. It is a two and a half-day workshop to prepare students for professional credential examinations in athletic training (both state and national exam formats). The multiple-choice examinations, covering the domains, will be scored to provide attendees with a baseline of their cognitive knowledge.Feedback will be provided on each test question.The workshop will also provide nationally recognized speakers.
TARGET AUDIENCE:College and University Juniors, Seniors; and Entry-level Graduate Students
DATES:Thursday January 26th 2012 (starting at 6 PM) through Saturday January 28th 2012 (finishing at 4 PM)
LOCATION:DoubleTree DFW Airport North Hotel (Address: 4441 W. John Carpenter Freeway, Irving, TX 75063).
FORMAT:Students will take the domain exams in an online format similar to the BOC exam.The examinations will also be offered in scantron format. However, students are highly encouraged to bring their laptops with wireless internet access.
QUIZ BOWL: The District VI Quiz Bowl Competition is also held in conjunction with the Competency Workshop.The winning team will represent District VI at the NATA Annual Meeting & Clinical Symposia, June 26-29, 2012 in St. Louis, Missouri.
